In this X-Men #6 (1964), we see the team sporting their new uniforms, designed by none other than Jean. Meanwhile, both Professor Xavier and Magneto hear rumors about a powerful mutant known as Namor, the Sub-Mariner. They both go searching for him in the astral realm, but it's Magneto who finds him first. He convinces one of Namor's subordinates to bring him to Magneto, hoping he'll join their cause.
The X-Men, determined to stop Magneto, board a boat towards one of Magneto's secret island lairs. Unfortunately, they arrive too late to prevent Namor from joining the Brotherhood, and Magneto attacks their boat with his amplified powers. But our X-Men don't back down and the battle ensues, resulting in Quicksilver being restrained.
Magneto, not one to mince his words, threatens Scarlet Witch, which outrages Namor, and he destroys Magneto's giant magnet. Professor X calls for an end to hostilities, and the Brotherhood flees without Namor.
