As if that wasn't enough, they come face to face with the Master Mold--a Sentinel that has the ability to create more Sentinels.
During their encounter with the Master Mold, the team learns some fascinating facts about one of their own, Beast. They discover that he was once a young boy who discovered his powers in his teenage years. He was even a football star in high school, but when his abilities were discovered by others, they became angry with him. Luckily, Professor Xavier read about McCoy in the newspaper and came to welcome him into the group he was starting--the X-Men.
As the issue progresses, Professor Xavier realizes that Beast is talking too much about the X-Men and puts him into a trance with his mental astral projection. Although this move almost kills Xavier, he manages to keep the team safe and continues to work towards defeating Dr. Bolivar Trask, who remains captive of his own creations, the Sentinels.
