The X-Men #101 (1976)

High Value: $3,200

Minimum Value: $39

The X-Men #101 from 1976 is an absolute classic! It sees the X-Men coming back into Earth's atmosphere on a damaged Starcore shuttle, with Jean Grey piloting the ship. Unfortunately, the ship crash lands into the Jamaica Bay, and everyone except Jean is able to swim out and reach safety. Cyclops is just about to head back down to rescue Jean, when she emerges from the water - but something is different. She shouts her name as Phoenix before fainting and falling back into the bay. Luckily, they all manage to swim to shore...just in time to see that they've destroyed JFK airport... again!

As they all head to the hospital to check on Jean's condition, the doctor gives them the good news - she's going to be just fine! Of course, Scott is absolutely over the moon to hear this news. However, the Professor is going to make them all take some time off at Cassiday Keep - Banshee's home. Things start off well enough, but soon they find themselves tumbling down a trap door and face to face with Juggernaut and Black Tom. It's an incredibly exciting issue, and one that's really essential for any X-Men fan!
