In The Amazing Spider-Man #32 (1966), the identity of the Master Planner is finally revealed as Doctor Octopus himself! But why is he collecting radioactive materials and carrying out strange experiments? Peter, on the other hand, is dealing with the stress of Aunt May's illness and the pressures of being a full-time student. In his efforts to motivate Betty not to talk to him, he picks a fight with Ned Leeds at the Daily Bugle. When Aunt May's doctor tells Peter that she's sick due to radioactive particles in her blood, he takes matters into his own hands, stealing a sample of her blood and taking it to Curt Connors (The Lizard) for analysis. Unfortunately, Doctor Octopus has his men steal the serum that Connors needed to help analyze the blood. In a fit of rage, Spider-Man tears up the city looking for the Master Planner. He finally finds a group of his men and goes into the laboratory where Dr. Octopus was working. In a fight, Octopus is taken by surprise by the rage he's fighting with. In order to escape, Dr. Octopus collapses the room on Spider-Man, trapping him under tons of steel and concrete. In a race against time, Connors worries that Spider-Man won't make it back before the serum loses its potency and May can't be saved. Get this issue and experience the thrill of the hunt!
