The Amazing Spider-Man #21 (1965)

In this classic issue of The Amazing Spider-Man #21, we see our friendly neighborhood superhero cross paths with the Human Torch once again! After being released from prison, the notorious Beetle returns to seek revenge on his old nemesis, the Human Torch. Johnny Storm catches wind of the Beetle's release and keeps a close watch on the situation. Meanwhile, Peter Parker decides to take a break from his studies and goes web-slinging as Spider-Man. He catches the Human Torch performing some impressive tricks for a crowd of onlookers, but little do they know that the Beetle is also lurking nearby. Things get complicated when the Human Torch agrees to refrain from using his powers for 24 hours to please his girlfriend, resulting in a twisted love triangle between Peter Parker, Betty Brant, and Doris Evans. As fate would have it, Spider-Man stumbles upon the Beetle outside of Doris' house and a brawl ensues. When things get out of hand and Doris is kidnapped, Spider-Man embarks on a mission to rescue her, but is mistaken by the Human Torch as the culprit. The two superheroes battle it out before realizing their mistake and teaming up to capture the Beetle and save Doris Evans. This historic issue is a must-read for any fan of superhero comics!
