Superman #48 (1947)

High Value: $3,800
Minimum Value: $45

In Superman issue 48, we get a glimpse into the epic battle between the Man of Steel and his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. Titled "The Man Who Stole the Sun!", this story sees Superman going head-to-head with Luthor as he tries to save the city from certain destruction. Along for the ride are Lois Lane, Perry White, and even a cameo appearance by President Harry Truman!
Written by Jerry Siegel and penciled by John Sikela with inkwork by George Roussos, this issue has become a classic in the world of comic books. It's been reprinted several times, including in the Three-Dimension Adventures Superman series from 1953 and 1997.
Along with this thrilling story, we also get a few extra goodies in this issue. "Autograph, Please!" sees Superman traveling back in time to some key moments in American history, while "Comeback of a Clown" is a poignant text story by Tex Blane. There are also some funny gag strips, including "Flip Flop the Clown" and "Willy."
If you're a fan of Superman or just looking to build your comic book collection, this issue is a must-have. Trust us, Comics Into Cash knows good comics when we see them, and this one is a keeper.
