Superman #128 (1959)

High Value: $1,500

Minimum Value: $18

Superman #128, published in 1959, contains two thrilling stories that will transport you to the world of the Man of Steel. In "Superman Versus the Futuremen," written by Bill Finger, penciled by Wayne Boring and inked by Stan Kaye, we see Superman battling a group of villains from the future who have come to the present day to steal a mineral that they need to survive. These futuremen are determined to stop Superman at all costs, and it's up to our hero to save the day.

The second story,"The Sleeping Beauty from Krypton!" written by Bill Finger, penciled and inked by Kurt Schaffenberger, reintroduces us to Supergirl. In this tale, she is awakened from her long sleep and transported from Krypton to Earth by Superman. But when she arrives, she finds that things have changed, and she struggles to adapt to her new life on Earth.

Both of these stories are included in the Superman Annual #5 and have been reprinted in Showcase Presents: Superman #1 and Superman: The Man of Tomorrow Archives #2. It's important to note that while Lex Luthor is mentioned in flashback, he is not seen in either story. Additionally, Bruce Wayne makes an appearance in disguise as Clark Kent.
