They discover that the carnival games are being run by the Black Star's minions, who are using the "winners" to unwittingly procure various valuable antiquities. The Green Arrow, Shining Knight, and Star-Spangled Kid infiltrate the carnival, posing as contestants. They eventually confront the Black Star himself, who is attempting to make off with a priceless jade Buddha. A fierce battle ensues, but the Law's Legionnaires are ultimately able to apprehend the Black Star and his henchmen. However, before his escape, the Black Star manages to steal a blue diamond from Coburn's collection. As he flees, he draws the third point of a five pointed star.
