Leading Comics #1, first published in 1941, introduced the 7 Soldiers of Victory, DC's second super hero team, to the world. The writer, Mort Weisinger, was ahead of his time and helped create an impressive line-up of heroes. Most of these heroes were newly introduced and given their own memorable origin stories by Weisinger himself.

The 7 Soldiers consisted of some of DC's most iconic characters, including Crimson Avenger from Detective Comics, Green Arrow and Speedy from More Fun, Shining Knight from Adventure, Star Spangled Kid and Stripesy from Star Spangled Comics, and the gun-slinging Vigilante, who was introduced in Action Comics.
