Justice League of America #17 (1963)

High Value: $1,400

Minimum Value: $17

The Justice League of America faces off against the Tornado Tyrant - a story full of adventure and action. This issue follows the JLA defeating the Rock Men of Pluto and being honored at a banquet, only to find themselves facing the Tornado Tyrant at their Secret Sanctuary. The Tyrant decided to become a hero on an Earth identical to Earth 1, where he represented every member of the Justice League. However, on that Earth, a gigantic and malevolent Tornado creature rises from the depths of the sea, and the "Justice League" finds themselves battling various menaces created by the Evil Tornado Tyrant.

They battle each member one-by-one and are ultimately defeated. But Green Lantern realizes the enemy's plan and shoots bolts of anti-energy into the Tornado Tyrant, ultimately defeating it. The JLA could not duplicate the anti-matter energy, so they altered their attack. They calculated the amount of energy needed to teleport the evil spirit into the anti-matter universe, where he would cease to exist. So the Tornado Champion absorbs the JLA into himself and recognizes good defeating evil.
