In Justice League of America #16 (1962), Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, and Atom set out to investigate a strange occurrence in Three Corners. Upon arrival, they find themselves helplessly dancing alongside the townspeople to music that seems to be controlling them. The heroes are powerless as a bank robbery takes place, but with the help of Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth, they discover the source of the music and put a stop to it. Meanwhile, Green Lantern, J'onn J'onzz, and Batman encounter their own dancing hijinks and must use their powers to regain control. Aquaman, Flash, and Superman face similar struggles on a riverboat before finally joining forces with the others to take down the mastermind behind it all, the Maestro. Though it all turns out to be a hypothetical scenario, the story leaves the Justice League of America shaken and contemplating their own weaknesses.
