Fantastic Four #18 (1963)

Fantastic Four #18 is a classic issue that features a powerful villain with brains and brawn. The Skrull Emperor wants to defeat the Fantastic Four, so his scientists create a Super Skrull with all the powers of the Fantastic Four and more. The Super Skrull then travels to Earth to fight the Fantastic Four and easily beats them. The team retreats, but Reed is clever and works out that the Super Skrull's power is being beamed to him from the Skrull's home planet. With this knowledge, he creates a jammer that can cancel out the villain's superpowers if it is placed on him. The team then lures the Super Skrull to a deserted island for a final showdown. After a brutal battle where the Skrull nearly wins, the Invisible Girl manages to put the jammer on him, and the rest of the team knocks him into a crater, sealing him in.
