Detective Comics #298 (1961)

High Value: $2,200

Minimum Value: $27

In Detective Comics #298, we get a double whammy of super-powered action. It kicks off with "The Challenge of Clayface!" where Batman and Robin are attending a charity event when they stumble into the clutches of the eponymous villain. Clayface is bad news - he can transform his body into anything he wants thanks to his clay-like constitution. It's not long before the Dynamic Duo are in a fight for their lives against his shapeshifting powers.

As if that weren't enough, we also get the story of "The Man Who Impersonated J'onn J'onzz." It's a drama-filled tale of friendship and deception, as Barry Clark, a successful impersonation artist, sprains his ankle before a big comeback gig impersonating his pal J'onn J'onzz. With Clark's livelihood on the line, J'onzz steps in to help his friend by impersonating him for the show.

But wait, there's more! The Aquaman story sees the sea-dwelling hero agreeing to protect a ship full of diplomats during peace talks between two warring nations. When agents from both sides show up to cause trouble, Aquaman has his work cut out for him. But he's not one to shy away from a challenge, and he soon gets to the bottom of things by investigating a secret transmitter that gave away the ship's location.

Overall, this issue is packed with action, intrigue, and plenty of superhero goodness.
