In Batman #64 (1951), Bruce Wayne attends a party with Vicki Vale, only to come face-to-face with a criminal on the way out. Intrigued, he returns later as Batman to investigate and discovers a millionaire with a dangerous hobby: collecting photographs of crimes. When the thugs he hired to supply him with photographs push the limits of his wallet, the millionaire takes matters into his own hands and kills one of them. Posing as law enforcement, he invites four top mobsters over to his mansion and threatens to use the photographs as evidence to put them away. Thankfully, Batman and Robin arrive in the nick of time to stop him. Unfortunately, in the resulting fight, the mansion burns down with all of the photographs inside.
