Batman #50 (1948)

High Value: $5,800

Minimum Value: $69

Batman #50 from 1948 tells the tale of the Dark Knight's enduring battle against one of his most iconic foes: Two-Face. In this issue, readers are treated to two stories that deliver all the excitement and intrigue that makes Batman comics so beloved. The first story, "Lights--Camera--Crime!" features the Caped Crusader in Hollywood taking on a gang of movie studio extortionists. But the real meat of the issue comes with "The Return of Two-Face," where we find that Harvey Dent has seemingly reformed from his criminal ways after undergoing plastic surgery. However, the line between sanity and insanity becomes blurred when Dent is plagued by nightmares that he's become Two-Face once again. But when Two-Face begins committing crimes in Gotham, Batman and Robin must race against the clock to clear Dent's name and stop the impostor before the true Harvey Dent snaps all over again. Also included in this issue is "The Second Boy Wonder," which introduces readers to Dick Grayson, the future Robin, and sets the stage for the dynamic duo's legendary partnership.
