Aquaman #1 (1962)

High Value: $10,000

Minimum Value: $120

Aquaman #1 from 1962 is a thrilling ride that sees The King of the Seven Seas in his first-ever solo series. When a water sprite arrives, Aquaman and Aqualad are called into action against the terrible fire trolls who are wreaking havoc through the oceans and heading straight for the surface. In the midst of all of this, Aquaman and Aqualad set up their undersea headquarters but are suddenly beset by strange occurrences. The culprit is revealed to be Quisp, a self-described Water Sprite from a "secret sea beneath the ocean." Quisp has come to warn Aquaman of an impending peril to his world. A trio of colossal Fire Trolls have broken free of a volcano, and it's up to Aquaman, Aqualad, and Quisp to stop them before it's too late. The Fire Trolls' mission is to steal all the world's missiles, use them to destroy all the undersea volcanoes, thus releasing all imprisoned Fire Trolls. Aquaman's plan is to freeze the Fire Trolls and use Quisp's repelling magic on them, reducing the Fire Trolls' size. Together with a pod of sperm whales, they imprison the Fire Trolls forever. It's a tale that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, and it's no wonder that Aquaman #1 is a classic comic worth treasuring.
