Minimum Value: $57

The All-Star Comics #34 from 1947 features the Justice Society running towards a mysterious blue face. W.I. Zard, a wealthy man, is offering a reward of $1,000,000 to the Justice Society for their good deeds. However, they refuse it as they don't accept payment for their actions. As they discuss a villain named the Wizard, they notice a stranger watching from the shadows. The stranger flees, and the heroes give chase. After a long chase, they lose the stranger and return to their HQ, which transforms into a boat. They find a note revealing that W.I. Zard is, in fact, the Wizard.
The Wizard takes them to his island home, where he accuses the Justice Society of perpetrating a great hoax. He gives them a test in which they have to stop five different crimes. Each hero takes on a different challenge, but the Wizard interferes and binds the heroes. However, they manage to escape and catch the crooks. In the end, the Wizard reveals that they were hypnotized the whole time, and he jumps into a pit of acid, seemingly dying.
