Adventure Comics #103 (1946) is an absolute goldmine of classic DC characters. Aquaman, Green Arrow, Johnny Quick, and Superboy all make appearances in this issue. It's the 8th appearance of Superboy and the start of the Superboy covers - a big deal for any collector in the know.
The issue opens with "Happy Birthday, Superboy", written by the legendary Don Cameron with art by the great Joe Shuster. Clark Kent is celebrating his 10th birthday and it's a big one. But just as things seem to be going well, Superboy discovers a nefarious plot to destroy his future. Can he figure it out in time to save himself and his family?
Next up, we've got "The Curious Cargo of the Bonnie Bess", a Johnny Quick story also by Don Cameron with art by Mort Meskin. Johnny Quick is on the case when a ship carrying a mysterious cargo runs aground. But can he figure out what's in those crates before it's too late?
"Aquaman" makes an appearance with "Footsteps in the Ocean", with art by Louis Cazeneuve. When a wealthy shipping magnate disappears, Aquaman is called in to investigate. But what he finds is far more dangerous than anyone could have imagined.
We've also got a two-page text story by Stan Carter called "Killer's Guns" and "The Sword of Sovereigns", a Shining Knight adventure written by Joe Samachson with art by Chuck Winter.
Last but certainly not least, there's "Jasper Invisible Arrows" with art by Maurice Del Bourgo. Green Arrow is on the hunt for a master criminal who has been wreaking havoc across the city. But this is one villain who won't be caught easily.
