Action Comics #88 (1945)

Superman is back and this time he's teaming up with the "accidental magicians" Hocus and Pocus in Action Comics #88. In this issue, Superman pays a visit to his old pals who have set up their own detective agency. While at their office, they're hired by Henry Weston to perform some tricks and entertain his guests at a party. The performance is a hit with everyone, even the scam artist Roger Nolan who sees an opportunity to get some cash from the stingy millionaires Hiram Slag and Benjamin Crabbe. Hocus and Pocus are enlisted by Nolan to convince the misers to contribute towards the building of an orphans' home, but they soon realize Nolan's true intentions. With the help of Superman, Hocus and Pocus teach Nolan a lesson and everyone lives happily ever after.
