Action Comics #73 (1944)

Action Comics #73 (1944) features an exciting tale called "The Hobby Robbers." In this issue, Superman must step in when a monocled thief named Lucius Spruce starts stealing people's collections and holding them for ransom. Clark Kent sets a trap for Spruce by having Lois write an article in the Planet that exposes him as the thief (which Superman did). Clark also states that he is a collector of antique clocks, which draws Spruce's attention. When Spruce and his gang kidnap Clark and his clock collection, Superman comes to the rescue just in time.
