Action Comics #69 (1944)

In Action Comics #69, Lois and Clark are bamboozled by a series of ads promoting big rewards for the return of seemingly random items. But when Lois goes missing, Superman steps in to investigate. At a state fair, the duo stumbles upon a group of people frantically searching for a needle in a haystack because of one of the ads. Later, a bent safety pin becomes the focus of another ad. Superman traces the finders of both items back to the same individual, J. Roger. Despite claiming the items had sentimental value, Roger soon succumbs to blackmail. The mastermind behind the ads is revealed to be the Prankster, who has evidence to blackmail all the wealthy individuals involved in the scheme. Things get serious when the Prankster kidnaps Lois, and Superman must rescue her and bring the villain to justice. Rampant with mystery and intrigue, Action Comics #69 is a classic worth reading.
