Action Comics #66 (1943)

In Action Comics #66, Superman is faced with a heart-wrenching situation when blind millionaire John Barnett's five-year-old grandson falls into a river and is swept over a waterfall never to be found again. Four years later, a nine-year-old boy shows up and claims to be Jackie. However, as Superman tries to stop some criminals from getting away with guns, they inform him that the boy isn't the real Jackie, and unless he leaves them alone, they will reveal the truth to Barnett, which could cause him to die from shock. The fake Jackie overhears this conversation and decides to run away. While running beside the river, he too falls in and is swept away, but this time, Superman is able to save him and discovers a hidden underground cavern where the real Jackie was swept. Although the fake Jackie is not the real one, Barnett is happy to adopt him anyway, and Superman is able to catch the crooks with the family situation solved.
