The scientist, knowing he cannot kill Superman, tricks Lois Lane into suspended animation using gas. When Superman arrives, he is faced with an ultimatum: submit to the same gas or Lois will be poisoned. Superman agrees, thinking he is immune to the gas, but it turns out it contains powdered Kryptonite.
The scientist then buries both Superman and Lois, and they are miraculously found 1,000 years later. Lois is found to be the only brunette left in the world, as all women in the future are blond, and the men who discover her cannot help but marvel at her beauty. They all want to marry her, but Lois tells them that they cannot compare to Superman, who they begin to try to reproduce using science. In the meantime, however, Superman finds that they are not actually in the future, but on Venous having only slept for about an hour after being shot into space by the scientist.
