Action Comics #109 (1947)

Action Comics #109 is a thrilling adventure featuring Superman and his battle with the notorious Prankster. The Prankster has created a gas that can make ink on paper money invisible, causing an economic crisis across the nation. Superman comes up with a creative solution to replace the paper currency with gold coins. However, the problem of the disappearing ink hasn't been solved yet. Prankster has another trick up his sleeve and manages to buy up all the blank money for 1 cent per bill, claiming he can restore the invisible ink. But Superman has a plan of his own. He creates a special die for new money, which fades like the others, and sells these bills to Prankster. Prankster saturates the bills with his gas, thinking he'll restore the ink, but instead, the bills show him in humiliating poses. Prankster is now hounded by the mob and begs Superman to put him back in jail where he will be safe.
