In Action Comics #105 (1947), Superman is faced with a villain that hates Christmas - can you imagine? Millionaire Jasper Rasper is out to sabotage the most wonderful time of the year. He fires his janitor, Cartwright, simply for saying "Merry Christmas" to him. Then, he decides to coat chocolates with a chemical that causes fatty tissue to multiply at an alarming rate and puts it in a box for Santa Claus at the North Pole. Luckily, Superman gets wind of the plan and rushes to save Christmas. But, he's too late - Santa is already asleep with a waistline so big he can't fit down chimneys! With the help of Santa's old pal, Superman puts him on a crash weight-loss program and even takes over the reindeer when they've been drugged. In the end, Superman saves the day and even turns Rasper into a kind and generous man, proving that even the most Scrooge-like individuals can have a change of heart.
