Action Comics #103 (1946)

Action Comics #103 takes Superman, Lois Lane, and Clark Kent on an adventure to Central America to explore an ancient Mayan temple. When they arrive, they discover that a team of archaeologists who were scheduled to open the pyramid have fled due to the curse inscribed on the pyramid’s seal. Superman decides to investigate and finds something unbelievable: an entire civilization in suspended animation! However, Superman accidentally triggers their revival, and they reveal that the pyramid holds a device that would turn back time 1,000 years, erasing all of modern civilization and killing everyone. Superman makes a deal to prove that modern civilization is worth saving and takes the ancient rulers on a tour of Metropolis to showcase its technological advancements.
